The signs are everywhere.

Political signs. Yard sale signs. Going-out-of-business signs. Grand opening signs. Everyone seems to be peddling something—like a five-year-old in a grocery store candy aisle, all demanding our attention at once.

There are road signs and trail markers pointing us this way or that.
“Come this way for more new, free stuff.”
“No—come this way for more of the old, good stuff.”

But is the “stuff” really any different on the path that veers left or the one that veers right?

Isn’t it often just another attempt to store up treasures on earth rather than in heaven?

Don’t get me wrong—like most people, I lean in one direction more than another. But it doesn’t take much. One step in either worldly direction can quietly pull us off the narrow path.

Some left–right decisions are actually simple.

If the choice leads to the fruit of the Spirit or reflects qualities God encourages, it’s on the narrow path.

If the choice leads to sin—or to condoning sin in others—it’s off the narrow path.

Simple.
Not complicated.

Like a child learning to look both ways before crossing the street, Scripture trains us in discernment—helping us read the signs of the world, whether they point left or right.

This is a lesson I pray God never allows me to forget.

As I leave the house this morning, heading toward more Divine Appointments, I’m committing myself once again to stay focused on the signs that point to the narrow way.

May God bless you and keep you focused on His signs as well.
